Who doesn’t love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? The guy is the embodiment of charisma with his dashing smile, heroic good looks and his excellent comedic timing. From kicking bad guy butt in action films to hosting what was probably the best episode of SNL this past season, Johnson is always captivating to watch. As it turns out, not only are we lowly, average humans big fans of The Rock, but so is Steven Spielberg.

In a new Esquire profile, Johnson revealed that he has one very surprising fan — okay, maybe not that surprising since we have to assume that every human on Earth who has seen Johnson in anything is a fan. When asked if there was a single moment when Johnson knew he really made it, he shared this special story:

About three weeks ago, I’m here at the house and I get a letter—’Been enjoying your movies over the years. Very entertaining. I feel like I’ve really gotten to know you over the years, most recently after watching you host Saturday Night Live. Great job. You continue to go for it. Proud of your work and look forward to meeting you. Steven Spielberg.’

Steven Spielberg, one of our most prolific and iconic working directors, is a fan of The Rock. Spielberg, one of our most busy and hard-working directors, takes time out of his life to enjoy things that The Rock does.

The rest of the profile is a great read, with Johnson being very charming (as usual) and quite forthcoming about his past and his transition from wrestling to acting.

But we still have one question: when is Steven Spielberg going to cast Dwayne Johnson in a movie?
