Funko Tunes In ’Stranger Things,‘ ’Westworld,‘ And More As SDCC 2017 TV Exclusives

The good thing about Funko having a hand in as many licenses as it does is that it gives properties that would otherwise be deemed too niche a chance to have some collectibles. As good as Westworld and Stranger Things are, there's just not a lot of market interest for a wide and diverse line of action figures or toys for those things. With its smaller, similarly styled collectibles however, Funko can dabble in just about every character in every property without much muss or fuss. It also means there can be some true deep cuts for San Diego Comic-Con exclusives.

To obtain any Funko items, you’ll first need to enter the lottery every morning at the Sails Pavilion, though location of that is subject to change. There, you’ll be able to enter for the chance to get a wristband, which will then give you the opportunity to stand in line to purchase items. You are not guaranteed any single item, just the privilege of getting in the line with the hope what you want hasn’t sold out by the time you reach the front. Daily allotments mean that not everything will last until the show floor closes, and often Funko’s booth is laid bare well before a given day’s final hours.

As has been the case the past few conventions, Funko is teaming with a number of retailers to offer these collectibles as shared exclusives. Partners like Hot Topic and Toys R Us will carry some, but not all, of the items Funko offers at Comic-Con, though there is no telling when they might show up at traditional brick and mortar stores. It’s also not clear yet what items are going to be shared exclusives, so do keep an eye out for what you want if you happen to be at the show itself.
