Yes, Harrison Ford Punched Ryan Gosling in the Face But It Was Ryan Gosling’s Fault
Last fall, Ryan Gosling revealed that Harrison Ford punched him in the face — like, legit punched him in the face — on the set of Blade Runner 2049. It was for a scene they were filming in Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to Ridley Scott’s sci-fi classic, of course. Still, the thought of iconic curmudgeon Harrison Ford punching iconic pretty boy Ryan Gosling in the kisser is just so delightful. In a new interview, Ford responds to Gosling’s face-punching allegation by suggesting his younger co-star should be “grateful” it only happened once. That sound you hear is the firing of shots from Ford’s general vicinity.
Ford is the subject of a fantastic new GQ cover story, which has plenty of wonderful comments from the typically prickly star of beloved franchises like Indiana Jones and Star Wars. But the most entertaining part of the profile (aside from Ford’s affection for a Vice show called F—ing Delicious) is when interviewer Chris Heath asks the actor to comment on the face-punching incident Gosling detailed in his own interview with GQ last year.
Ford readily admits to punching Gosling, whom he affectionately refers to later on as a “f—ing Mousketeer,” but he also hilariously maintains that it was almost entirely Gosling’s fault:
Oh, it gets better. When asked to corroborate Gosling’s claim that Ford later visited his dressing room with a bottle of scotch, his response is delightfully gruff:
Ford went on to add that he really likes Gosling, and that he’s a “smart guy” who’s “fun to work with.” That’s about the highest praise you could get from Harrison Ford.
Blade Runner 2049 hits theaters on October 6.
