The rumors that ‘Game of Thrones’ star Jason Momoa would be joining the DC Cinematic Universe as Aquaman flooded the Internet long before Ben Affleck was cast as Batman. When Momoa’s casting was made official through an announcement a few months, the news was greeted with a shrug. We already knew the worst kept secret in superhero moviedom! However, the announcement did mean that Momoa was allowed to stop dodging questioning (or outright lying) and chat about the character. And he has just revealed a few more interesting nuggets of information.

Comic Book Movie). Let’s run through those tweet, shall we?

That’s not too surprising, but it is interesting that his Warner Bros. contract isn’t nearly as demanding as the contracts thrust on Marvel Studios actors, who are often on board for up to nine movies. That means that they’ll be forced to renegotiate with him in about six years if they want to keep him involved (or they could just kill Aquaman off).

Sadly, Momoa’s wish here probably won’t happen. The solo ‘Aquaman’ movie will arrive in between the two mammoth ‘Justice League’ movies that Zack Snyder is already signed to direct. There is no way he could find the time to helm a third movie in that stretch. However, Momoa shouldn’t fret. If Michelle MacLaren getting hired for ‘Wonder Woman’ is any indication, Warner Bros. is going to attach some very interesting directors to their slate of DC movies.

Can you imagine having to lie to the entire world for well over a year? Can you imagine being cast as a superhero with serious name recognition and not being able to tell anybody about it? Momoa is a stronger person than most of us.

We should get our first glimpse at Momoa as Aquaman in a cameo appearance in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ on March 25, 2016. He’ll then follow that up with ‘Justice League’ on on November 10, 2017, his solo film on July 27, 2018, and the second ‘Justice League’ film on June 14, 2019. Well, at least Momoa has his next five years planned out.
