Jean-Claude Van Damme Amazon Series Is a ‘Terrible Idea’ in New Teaser
It seems like forever ago that Jean-Claude Van Damme went meta for new Amazon pilot Jean-Claude Van Johnson, but don’t split on us just yet. The muscles from Brussels are back, bronze and willing to admit what a terrible idea this was in a fresh teaser.
Amazon released a new promo for Jean-Claude Van Johnson over a year after the first Pop Tart-obsessed pilot, albeit without specifying any kind of (presumably 2018) premiere window. In it, Van Damme works on a giant statue of himself, but seemingly has his own reservations about Van Johnson as a full-time series.
In addition to the below synopsis, check out a poster for the series:
Jean-Claude Van Johnson stars global martial arts and film sensation Jean-Claude Van Damme as “Jean-Claude Van Damme,” a global martial arts and film sensation…and, operating under the simple alias of ‘Johnson,” the most dangerous undercover operative in the world. Unhappily retired, he’s now whiling away his days in superficial Hollywood… until a chance encounter with a lost love lures him back into the game, eventually forcing him to confront the greatest enemy he’s ever faced: a Bulgarian drug cartel.
Just kidding it’s himself.
Also starring in the series are Phylicia Rashad, Kat Foster and Moises Arias, as executive produced by Expendables alum Dave Callaham, Key & Peele’s Peter Atencio, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker and more. You can watch the first pilot on Amazon streaming, and stay tuned for more on Jean-Claude Van Johnson.
