Sounds like Ashton Kutcher will share his Apple with ‘The Book of Mormon’ star Josh Gad.  Kutcher was somewhat infamously cast as iconic Apple CEO Steve Jobs but which legendary tech pioneer will the Tony-nominated actor Gad star as?

Variety reports that Gad is in negotiations to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in Joshua Michael Stern's upcoming indie biopic ‘Jobs,’ which tells the story of Jobs’ early days at the head of the technology giant.

Wozniak, invented the Apple I computer and is credited with co-creating the Apple II. But I’m sure it’s Gad’s chemistry with Kutcher that landed him consideration for the coveted role, as their relationship will be the foundation on which Matt Whiteley’s screenplay will be based.

Obviously, Gad is riding high on the overwhelming success of ‘The Book of Mormon’ on Broadway, and fans of that show probably would rather see him dedicate his time to a big-screen adaptation of the smash hit stage show. He’s also hard at work on the NBC pilot "1600 Penn," a family comedy set in the White House that he co-created and will exec produce.

But his screen credits have been underwhelming, from small parts in ‘21’ and ‘The Rocker’ to a flat-out annoying turn in ‘Love and Other Drugs.’ The ‘Jobs’ picture could put him on a better track to screen success. Or he could just wait until that ‘Book of Mormon’ movie happens, which is sure to bring him one step closer to an ‘EGOT.’
