The still-developing Judge Dredd: Mega-City One TV series may feature a familiar chin under the visor, but the title city will look very different. See for yourself in the first official concept art of the new series, which may allude to some famous storylines.

IGN shared first looks at the new Judge Dredd TV series beyond brief glimpses from the show’s announcement. One shot gives us a look at the upper Mega-City One in a “Democracy March” (which may allude to the “America” storyline), while a second goes to the very bottom for “Lowlife Arrival.”

IM Global and UK game developer Rebellion are working on the new live-action Judge Dredd series, which is said to be a “dark fantasy” leaning more into the character’s fantastical adventures. Here’s how initial reports described the series, which might still be a few years away:

The show is set in a future where the East Coast of the U.S. has become a crowded and crime-ridden megalopolis. It will be an ensemble drama about a team of Judges — futuristic cops invested with the power to be judge, jury, and executioner — as they deal with the challenges the future-shocked 22nd century throws at them.

The release of concept art no doubt intends to attract studio involvement, but does Judge Dredd: Mega-City One capture the comic spirit so far?
