Please Enjoy Four — Four! — New ‘Kong: Skull Island’ TV Spots
With the movie only a couple months away, it’s about time for Kong: Skull Island to drop another bit of footage — or four. Today, Legendary has gifted us a bunch of new short TV spots that have a few new shots in them, a whole lot of monster footage, and give us a better idea of who all these non-Kong characters really are. The first one, above, reiterates the Godzilla connection while also letting us know that, yes, Samuel L. Jackson is going full Samuel L. Jackson villain mode for this one too, never fear. Or, if you’re one of the people stuck on the island with him, fear a lot.
Check out the other three below:
So now we know that Jackson is the cavalry, and Tom Hiddleston’s character is a tracker, although exactly how he makes a living tracking giant prehistoric creatures on the off season is beyond me. The last promo is by far the most emotional, showing a gentler side to both the explorers and Kong, and that amazing shot of Brie Larson reaching out to touch him. It’s hard to imagine giant ape needing to be saved, but I’m glad someone’s on his side. Kong just can’t help but be charmed by those tiny human ladies, huh.
Kong: Skull Island reimagines the origin of the mythic Kong in a compelling, original adventure from director Jordan Vogt-Roberts. In the film, a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific—as beautiful as it is treacherous—unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.
Kong: Skull Island hits theaters March 10.
