Batman Gets All The Best Toys in The First LEGO ‘Justice League’ Sets
Before the Justice League teams up this fall, you'll be able to catch them working hard to stop Darkseid’s forces in a new DC Super Heroes collection from LEGO. In August, three new sets will give us our first chance to live out some of Justice League’s potential action scenes in Atlantis, some tunnels, and what looks like Superman’s Arctic home away from home.
The smallest of the new sets coming later this summer, Battle for Atlantis pits Aquaman and two Atlanetan guards against a Parademon. There’s a little archway and a few pillars included as well to flesh out the diorama. I like the color choice for Atlantis, as it will help it stand out from the other DC Cinematic Universe-based LEGO sets, the bulk of which have all been cast in darker tones. I do wish Aquaman wasn’t in his armored look, but this Jason Momoa minifigure is probably one of the most hardcore LEGO characters made either way.

By now we’ve all seen the Justice League’s first official trailer a few times, and have seen that moment where Batman jumps into some kind of new vehicle. This set gives us a much better look at that new ride, the Knightcrawler, as well as a Flash minifigure and two green Parademons. As per usual, Batman has all the best vehicles that LEGO’s brick scientists can develop. Even after The LEGO Batman Movie, which saw the Caped Crusader get a whole range of new transportation options, it’s good to see the creativity hasn’t stopped.

That holds just as true here with the Flying Fox: Batmobile Airlift Attack set. The biggest, and most expensive, of the three new sets, the Flying Fox is mobile transport ship that Batman apparently has just for toting the Batmobile to regions otherwise inaccessible by car. You know, like the Arctic. That’s not to say the movie will feature this vehicle or even have a showdown near the Fortress of Solitude — I think we all remember LEGO's Iron Man 3 misdirects — but this one at least promises that such a spectacular finish may be on the way.
Plus, this is the only set to come with a Steppenwolf figure, which gives us our best look at the villain du jour for Justice League. Add in Superman, Cyborg, Batman and Wonder Woman minifigures, along with a few more Parademons, and you've got one impressive set.
