Announced at E3 2013, Avalanche and WB Games have teamed to bring Mad Max to life once more, only this time it's as a video game. Get a load of the first gameplay footage in this new trailer.

Using some heavy narration and a haunting acoustic song, Avalanche gets the mood just right for its upcoming Mad Max game. Most of the action on display has to do with driving, and there's very little exploration on foot and combat shown. That said, what we do see is pretty violent, and suits the tone of the original film series quite well.

There's been no official release date given, but Amazon is currently claiming Mad Max will be available April 30, 2014 on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One. There's quite a bit of time between now and then, so hopefully we'll get to see more of Max in action over the next couple of months.
