Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman in the same film? Please don't pinch us if we're dreaming. It seems ol' Fassy is in talks to co-star with Portman in Lynne Ramsay's western 'Jane Got a Gun.' Our emotions agree with Natalie Portman's face in the above photo.

According to a scoop over at Vulture, Michael Fassbender is negotiations to star with Natalie Portman in 'Jane Got a Gun.' Penned by Brian Duffield, the script was on the prestigious black list last year. Lynne Ramsay will direct the film as a follow-up to her startling drama 'We Need to Talk About Kevin.'

'Jane Got a Gun' stars Portman as the titular Jane, a woman whose husband shows up on her front doorstep riddled with bullets and on the edge of death after running around with a band of outlaws. As the very criminals who left her husband for dead encroach on her property, Jane turns to an ex-lover for help to protect her homestead and keep her husband alive. It sounds like a western twist on the old 'Virgin Spring' story, so in other words, it sounds pretty damn awesome.

Fassbender would play the role of the ex-lover -- and if that's her ex-lover, can you even imagine who her husband must be? It's hard to top Fassy, but the actor hasn't signed anything just yet as he's still working on 'The Counselor' with Ridley Scott.
