Microsoft Registers Halo: Spartan Assault Domains Ahead of E3
In case you haven't heard, there's a big gaming convention coming next week. It goes by the name Electronic Entertainment Expo (or E3 for short). There, Microsoft will be revealing new games for the upcoming next generation console, Xbox One. Now it looks like one of Microsoft's most important franchises will be at the show as well.
Introducing Halo 5 seems like a no-brainer for Microsoft, even if the sequel doesn't launch this year. Having a killer trailer or at least some footage of a next-gen version of the Xbox's most recognized title would go a long way in easing consumer unease towards the Xbox One.
It certainly looks like something Halo-related will be happening at E3, as Fusible has spotted a few new domains registered by Microsoft ahead of the big convention. Five different websites featuring a variation of Halo: Spartan Assault were discovered, but it's not really clear just what the sites are for. It's unlikely the fifth game in the series would drop the numerical branding, and Microsoft has already hinted that it will be a while until we hear more about Steven Spielberg's 'Halo' series.
Whatever Microsoft's plans are, we won't have to wait long to find out just what's going on. Now that we know there's a very strong chance there will be more Halo news at E3, we're looking forward to what the Xbox makers have to say.
