'Godzilla' is going to be huge ... and we mean that in two ways. First, he'll be huge in a literal sense, as these two new posters indicate. Secondly, he'll be huge at the box office, because posters like this (and trailers like the one we got a few days ago) are starting to make this look like the blockbuster to beat this summer.

Director Gareth Edwards, who previously made the fantastic indie 'Monsters,' has promised that his take on the King of the Monsters will be more in line with the original 1954 film than the 1998 debacle and everything we've seen so far lines up with that vision. 'Godzilla' doesn't just look like an expensive blockbuster -- it looks like a horror movie, where the title creature isn't a hero, but a force of nature that cares about humanity in the same way that we care about ants. These posters aren't selling an exciting adventure, but a gripping and unsettling experience about man plummeting from the top of the food chain. It looks as dark as 'Pacific Rim' was comic book-y.

'Godzilla' will stomp into theaters on May 16, 2014. Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston and David Strathairn headline the human cast.
