Long before the many movie apps that let you see what movies are playing where and when, there were entire pages of newspapers dedicated to this feature. Showtimes for movies listed underneath big advertisements for what was playing in theaters. Most newspapers across the country have eliminated the showtimes in their pages but that doesn't mean the art of the newspaper ad is gone forever. We looked back (with the help of Held Over!) at some vintage newspaper ads for some classic movies. From 'Star Wars' to 'Batman' and others in-between, here's a look at what it used to look like when you were about to go to the movies.
