‘Orphan Black’ Sets Final Season Premiere for June
We’re generally used to fresh Orphan Black episodes in the spring, but it seems everyone these days is pushing back premieres. So it is, that the fifth and final season of the BBC-A’s clone drama has confirmed a summer return date for “The Final Trip.”
Where prior seasons of Orphan Black have generally landed in the first half of the year, Season 5 confirms a June 10 premiere date for Sarah, Cosima, Alison, Rachel, Helena, MK and all the others. If that seems like a terribly long wait, the combined cast of Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Kristian Bruun, Kevin Hanchard, Evelyne Brochu, Ari Millen, acting double Kathryn Alexandre and co-creator/writer Graeme Manson will appear onstage for a March 23 PaleyFest panel in LA.
Elsewhere of Orphan Black, the fifth and final season has confirmed that Evelyne Brochu, Calwyn Shurgold and James Frain will return as Delphine, Hell Wizard and Ferdinand. Season 5 has also added Watchmen star Stephen McHattie in the critical role of Neolution’s 170-year old founder, P.T. Westmoreland, along with Elyse Levesque as Detective Engers, a dirty Neolution cop who is a true believer; Andrew Moodie as Mr. Frontenac, Rachel’s new mysterious consultant; Simu Liu as Mr. Mitchell, Kira’s new homeroom teacher, and Jenessa Grant as Mud, an eclectic young islander.
Orphan Black may not show any final season footage for the time being, but is a June premiere worth the wait?
