Starz’s ‘Outlander’ Heads to France in First Season 2 Trailer
Starz’s Outlander has kept fans waiting long enough for a second season, and may tease a few Sassenachs even longer until its spring 2016 premiere, but at last, some relief is here. Jamie and Claire are headed to France in the first official Season 2 trailer, which itself offers a treasure trove of easter eggs for fans.
Moreso than the first trailer, the premium cable network will release additional content through every day of December, including “Season 2 photos, cast interviews, holiday recipes, and the chance to win special Outlander store items.” So reads Starz’s official description for Outlander Season 2, which hasn’t yet set an official premiere, but will return sometime in the spring:
Season Two of Outlander begins as Claire and Jamie arrive in France, hell-bent on infiltrating the Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart, and stopping the battle of Culloden. With the help of his cousin Jared, a local wine merchant, Jamie and Claire are thrown into the lavish world of French society, where intrigue and parties are abundant, but political gain proves far less fruitful. Altering the course of history presents challenges that begin to weigh on the very fabric of their relationship. However, armed with the knowledge of what lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must race to prevent a doomed Highland uprising, and the extinction of Scottish life as they know it.
