Since Lee Daniels first burst onto the scene with his breakout film 'Precious,' many have been curious as to what he'll give us next. Now Millennium Entertainment finally gives us a glimpse of his latest movie, 'The Paperboy.'

The upcoming thriller is based off the novel written by Pete Dexter and while we're looking forward to see the final product, it's gotten mixed reviews when it debuted at this year's Cannes Film Festival. (And then there was that whole "Nicole Kidman Urinates on Zac Efron" controversy...)

'The Paperboy' centers on a reporter (Matthew McConaghuey) and his younger brother (Zac Efron) who travel back to their hometown in order to further investigate the case of a death row inmate. Once they start finding out more information on the man's possible innocence or guilt, they find themselves a part of their own story. The rest of the cast includes Nicole Kidman, Macy Gray, David Oyelowo, John Cusack and Scott Glenn.

'The Paperboy' trailer falls into the same trap that many have tripped into during the past couple of years. Instead of simply giving us a taste of what's to come, we end up getting most of the story spoon fed to us. And nary a mention of a golden shower! Here's hoping that some of the twists and turns of the narrative were not revealed just yet in the trailer below  If you're still curious to watch 'The Paperboy,' make sure you do so when it comes out in theaters on October 5th.
