‘Parks and Recreation’ Season 5 Will Be Flush With Jean-Ralphio

As happy as we were for Ben Schwartz' success to learn that the star had graduated beyond 'Parks and Recreation' into a regular role on Showtime's 'House of Lies,' renewed through season 2, we had to mourn for the reduced presence of Pawnee's most opportunistic hipster this side of Aziz Anisari.  Schwartz managed to sneak pack for a cameo appearance in 'Parks and Rec' finale "Win, Lose or Draw," but how much can we expect to see him in the coming season?

Jean-Ralphio fans rejoice, for 'Parks and Recreation' season 5 will indeed play host to Tom Haverford's ever-contemporary business partner.  Despite filming the second season of Showtime's 'House of Lies,' Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as the 'Parks and Recreation' entrepreneur in at least one episode beginning November 1.  But what could make the streets of Pawnee flush with such cash again?  Says 'Parks' show-runner Mike Schur to The Hollywood Reporter:

Tom at the beginning of the season is struggling a bit because he hasn’t had any good entrepreneurial ideas in a while and he’s running short on cash, and he strikes what could be the first ever actually legitimate business idea that he has ever had — and he invites Jean-Ralphio into the mix to be his business partner again.

Additionally, Aziz Ansari spoke to TVGuide about the potential success of Tom's new business, saying "That one will go a little bit better because he learned so much from the mistakes that he made with Entertainment 720, of which there were many."  It isn't known if Schwartz will actually stick around for Tom's new idea, though as hardcore Jean-Ralphio fans, we certainly hope so.

Schwartz joins an impressive year that includes 'Delocated' star Jon Glaser as a new nemesis for Leslie Knope, Lucy Lawless as a new love interest for Ron Swanson, as well as guest turns from U.S. Senators Barbara Boxer (California), Olympia Snowe (Maine) and even Arizona senator / former presidential candidate John McCain.
