We’ve speculated for a while that Brenton Thwaites was playing Will Turner’s son in the upcoming fifth installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. But Disney has been quiet on the matter, merely describing Thwaites’ Henry sans surname, as only “a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy.” A new behind the scenes featurette from the studio has officially confirmed that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley’s characters are indeed Henry’s parents.

The Dead Men Tell No Tales clip features interviews with the entire lead cast (minus Johnny Depp), as well as Jerry Bruckheimer and directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki). When Thwaites appears on screen, so does his full character name: Henry Turner. The latest trailers have yet to reveal Bloom’s Will Turner or Knightley’s Elizabeth Turner, who are set to appear in the new film.

The clip also included behind-the-scenes looks at some action sequences at the gallows and at sea. “We wanted it to feel like a ride, scary and emotional,” said Sandberg, “and that means huge action pieces.” There’s Depp’s Jack Sparrow holding onto a giant house as it’s dragged across the ground, more ghost sharks, and one wild shot of the Black Pearl coasting along the edge of a gap in the ocean. If Dead Men Tell No Tales can revive the wild, nutty spirit of the first three Pirates films – remember when Naomi Harris grew into a giant voodoo goddess and the sea turned upside-down in At World’s End? – then the fifth film might just be a welcome addition to the franchise. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales hits theaters May 26.
