Seth MacFarlane’s Oscars Monologue: Captain Kirk, Sock Puppets and More
The 2013 Oscars ceremony, hosted by Seth MacFarlane, started off with a bang. We knew there was gonna be at least one or two musical numbers, given the comedian's past musical turns for 'Family Guy,' but were you prepared for Harry Potter and Robin Boy Wonder singing and dancing together? Or, for that matter, Captain Kirk beaming in from the future?
During the 2013 Oscars red carpet, stars like Channing Tatum, Amanda Seyfried and Kristen Chenoweth were being very hush hush on the rumored musical numbers for the Seth MacFarlane-hosted ceremony, but we didn't have to wait long to see some of them in action.
MacFarlane's Oscars opening monologue showcased the dance moves of first 'Magic Mike' star Channing Tatum and a now short-haired Charlize Theron (a much-welcomed bit), followed shortly by a trio number including Daniel Radcliffe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and MacFarlane.
But the main attraction was the surprise appearance of the original Captain, Kirk William Shatner, via "message from the future." His mission -- change MacFarlane's Oscar routine so it doesn't crash and burn. And who could forget the "We Saw Your Boobs" number, and 'Flight' recreated through sock puppets? Check out Seth MacFarlane's Oscars monologue below, as we update you with footage as it becomes available.
[Editor's Note: Of course, all the leaked footage is getting pulled from the web. We'll be updating the post with the official versions as they become available.]
