This past weekend’s ‘SNL‘ installment under ‘The Hunger Games‘ star Woody Harrelson took home the gold for best episode of the 40th anniversary season to date, but will ‘Annie‘ star Cameron Diaz seize the throne for herself? Find out, as Diaz lays claim to New York City and details her sordid past with Bobby Moynihan in the first promos of this weekend’s latest ‘SNL’!

Curiously breaking throughout the commercial spot, Cameron Diaz begins her fourth ‘SNL’ hosting duties opposite Bobby Moynihan, both backs to the camera, as Diaz ponders what she’d do as ruler of all New York. Musical guests Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson of course get a name-drop, but the best parts of Cameron Diaz’s ‘SNL’ promo lie in watching how easily cast veteran Bobby Moynihan gets a chuckle from the four-time host. Plus, Kathy Bates! Sort of.

Diaz has made multiple appearances on the long-running NBC sketch comedy series, hosting in 1998, 2002 and 2005, as well as introducing then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake’s musical performance in 2006. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars also acted as both host and musical guest in 2012, so we wouldn’t rule out a few sketch appearances as well.

Take a look at Cameron Diaz’'s ‘SNL’ return in the promos above, and tell us if you think the ‘Annie’ star will topple Woody Harrelson as season 40's best host!
