It's not uncommon for surprise guests to pop up on 'Saturday Night Live,' but when that surprise guest is none other than Tyrion Lannister, you just have to get excited. What seemed like a rather typical "Drunk Uncle" sketch on last night's SNL was instantly elevated with the arrival of 'Game of Thrones' star Peter Dinklage. Watch it below!

The scene begins normal enough, with Weekend Update host Seth welcoming back Bobby Moynihan's Drunk Uncle character to discuss tax season. However, in true Drunk Uncle fashion, he immediately strays from the topic at hand and starts singing a little too loudly and speaking his mind a little too much. An offhand reference to 'Game of Thrones' provides the entrance cue for his buddy "Peter Drunklage," who even Drunk Uncle thinks is a little too drunk.

Although Melissa McCarthy did a fine job hosting, seeing the Emmy-winning Dinklage rub shoulders with the SNL cast kind of made us wish he was the one hosting. Take note, Lorne Michaels: get him back on the stage soon!
