'Star Wars: Episode 7' has incited all kinds of reactions across Hollywood. For every actor or filmmaker who expresses excitement in the project, you'll find another who won't touch it with a ten foot pole. However, just because someone wants to be in the new 'Star Wars' doesn't necessarily mean that they'll mesh with that universe. So, how do we react when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson says that he'd love to journey to that long ago, far away galaxy?

Speaking with Coming Soon while doing press for 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation,' the charismatic wrestler-turned-actor revealed that he'd love to be a part of 'Star Wars Episode 7' and had many kind words for director JJ Abrams:

"'Star Wars.' And that’s not to say that they need it. Obviously they’re doing very well. J.J. [Abrams] is just gonna crush it. I’m so excited. There’s a guy, by the way, who’s not just a brilliant director, but who honors and respects mythology. You’ve seen that with 'Star Trek' and you’re going to see that with 'Star Wars.' I’m very excited about that."

It may seem a little silly for Johnson to go around telling entertainment journalists that he's like to be in the next 'Star Wars' film, but remember that actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Liam Neeson only got involved with the prequel trilogy back in the late '90s because they were proactive and made it known that they were fans. The Rock may initially seem like an odd choice for 'Star Wars,' but who knows what Abrams and Disney are cooking up. Maybe he's perfect for a tough smuggler with a heart of gold or a deadly, lighsaber wielding Sith villain. Heck, if he's that excited, put some fur on him and let him play Chewbacca's cousin or something.

What do you think, 'Star Wars' fans? Is Dwayne Johnson the kind of actor you'd like to see in the next film?
