‘Star Wars’ Reveals ‘Rogue One’ Ghost, Ahsoka Concept Art and More
Star Wars Celebration has only just begun, and won’t bring us details on The Last Jedi or Star Wars Rebels until the weekend, but fans of the animated branch are in for an early treat. See the fully-rendered Ghost adapted for Rogue One, and check out early concept art of The Clone Wars’ Ahsoka Tano and Cad Bane!
During the “Animated Origins & Unexpected Fates” panel at the Orlando event, Clone Wars and Rebels supervising producer Dave Filoni revealed some early artwork from either series, highlighting the evolution of design. The Star Wars Twitter account shared some of the images, including one that showcases Rebels ship The Ghost in its original concept design, and the detailed model that ended up zooming above Scarif in Rogue One:
Our own Matt Singer was also on-hand to capture Filoni’s first sketch of Ahsoka Tano, along with some of the more completed designs that went into The Clone Wars:
Even more, the Star Wars account shared the evolution of Clone Wars bounty hunter Cad Bane. IGN also has a detailed write-up of some lost animatics that would have seen Cad Bane and a young, but fully-armored Boba Fett fighting one another, providing an origin for the scorch mark on Fett’s helmet:
We’ll learn more about Rebels Season 4 on Saturday, but in the meantime, follow us on Twitter for Star Wars updates all weekend from Celebration.
