Star Wars Celebration

It's always a good day when new Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys items are shown off for the very first time. The high-end figures and statues have been fan-favorites no matter what license the two manufacturers have turned their eyes towards, but Star Wars has a particularly special place at both Sideshow and Hot Toys. At Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Sideshow's booth was brimming with characters from that galaxy far, far away that could and should be the focus of any collection.

For four days, Star Wars Celebration captivated fans of all ages with remarkable panels, early peeks at the latest Star Wars adventures, amazing merchandise and spectacular cosplay. Typically the final day of a convention is a day of rest for the cosplaying faithful, but this Star Wars Celebration, there was no rest for the weary. With no new Celebration for another two years, cosplayers turned out in their Easter Sunday best for the final day in Orlando.

Walt Disney World and Disneyland already have a few Star Wars-based attractions, including the Star Wars Launch Bay, where you can interact with characters from the movies like BB-8, and Star Tours: The Adventure Continues, a simulator ride that brings guests on a journey at lightspeed through various corners of the galaxy far, far away. But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming: A full “Star Wars Land” coming to theme parks on both coasts, which will boast some of the most advanced theme-park technology to date.

With more than 160 figures currently available or in development, Hasbro's Star Wars Black Series has given fans from all eras of the saga action figures to properly decorate a home. Though Toy Fair was just a few short months ago, there weren't many updates for the Black Series on hand. Turns out, Hasbro was just keeping its secrets for Star Wars Celebration. At the show, new figures and vehicles were shown off for the very first time, offering a glimpse into the year ahead for Star Wars Black.

Who among us hasn't dreamed of flying the Millennium Falcon or a TIE Fighter high in the sky above the rest of the walking world? While that's not technically possible (yet), that hasn't stopped a devoted bunch of Star Wars car junkies from doing everything they can to get as close to that fantasy as possible. Dubbed the Road Squadron at Star Wars Celebration, these custom cars and motorcycles will make you wish you had one of these sweet rides to call your own.

Whatever the first few days had brought, they say three is the magic number. Proving that idiom, Star Wars Celebration Orlando's third day of Jedi action was filled with even more creativity from cosplaying fans.

We’re still reeling from the announcement that Star Wars Rebels Season 4 will end the series, but equally excited to catch up with the films. Case in point, creator Dave Filoni promises Hera will become the General Syndulla overheard in Rogue One, as well answering a few mysteries of her place in the films and beyond.

For all that Star Wars has done for the action figure market since the 1970s, it hasn't quite had the same presence in the doll arena. While there have certainly been attempts to make some headway in that world, Star Wars has seemingly been content to rule the pegs in other aisles. This week however, a much more concerted effort into the world of action dolls was announced, and the world got it's first look at Star Wars: Forces of Destiny at Star Wars Celebration.

The talk of Star Wars Celebration on Friday was undoubtedly all that lovely The Last Jedi footage, but once those glorious two minutes were up, there was still plenty of amazing sights and sounds to take in around the floor. If you thought Thursday was a good day for cosplay, day two of Star Wars Celebration Orlando brought it even harder. For real.
