‘Suicide Squad’ Makes Being Bad Look Pretty Good in New TV Spots and Character Portraits
Suicide Squad is one of our most anticipated films of the summer — mostly because after a few months of watching heroes save the world in big blockbusters, it’ll be fun to see a team of villains swoop in to shake things up. If Amanda Waller is to be believed in these new TV spots, these guys (and a couple of ladies) are the worst of the worst, but maybe that’s what we need right now.
Warner Bros. has unveiled two new TV spots for David Ayer’s DC villain team-up, and while there’s not much in the way of new footage, these previews are definitely keeping the momentum going. August can’t get here soon enough, especially with the recent succession of disappointing sequels. Hopefully Ayer can deliver something a bit different.
The studio has also released a series of character portraits, which you can see in the viewer above. There are 11 images in total — that seems like a lot of characters to juggle in one film, but if the trailers and TV spots are any indication, we should be in for a pretty entertaining time. Featured in the portraits are Jared Leto’s Joker, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag, Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje’s Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara’s Katana, Jay Hernandez’s Diablo and Adam Beach’s Slipknot. And that’s not even the whole cast!
