Vin Diesel. A flaming sword. Gnarly witches and supernatural monsters. Vin Diesel’s insane beard. What more could you ask for in a new film from the star of the Fast and Furious and Riddick franchises? Not much — oh, but then there’s Michael Caine and Elijah Wood and Wildling badass Rose Leslie from Game of Thrones. Okay, so you could ask for more, but the latest trailer for The Last Witch Hunter promises more than enough to satisfy.

The “killer kid” is one of horror cinema’s most provocative concepts because the mere concept gleefully pushes as many buttons as it possibly can. No matter what happens, a symbol of youthful innocence is going to be impossibly corrupted, especially if the adults decide to fight back against their pint-sized aggressors. The upcoming horror comedy Cooties isn’t shy about the fact that it’s about zombie children murdering their way across an elementary school and a new piece of art from the film doubles down on this glorious bad taste.

After watching the new trailer for The Last Witch Hunter, it’s easy to see why noted uber-geek Vin Diesel would choose to star in this thing. This looks like one nerdy movie, the perfect chance for Diesel to put his years of Dungeons & Dragon practice to use on the big screen. After all, the story of an immortal warrior teaming up with a priest and a rogue witch to battle evil warlocks and monsters sounds more like an RPG campaign than a movie.

Remember cooties? That made-up disease that we used as an excuse to avoid kids when we were in grade school? The new horror comedy Cooties takes that fictional, juvenile ailment and turns it into something deadly — and hilarious. Clearly none of these people got their annual cooties shot.

On paper, The Last Witch Hunter seems silly, but you know who can handle silly action well? Vin Diesel. The leader of the Riddick franchise is taking on witches and supernatural forces in his upcoming film, and judging by the trailer there’s going to be lots of sword-wielding, flames, and flaming sword-wielding action. Did we also mention Michael Caine is in this? Michael Caine is in this. Let’s go.

The Trust already had our attention when it cast Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood as corrupt cops — that’s quite an intriguing pairing, but the upcoming crime drama just guaranteed our interest by adding someone even more outstanding to the cast: iconic actor Jerry Lewis. Yes, as in the Jerry Lewis. And he’s playing just about the best part imaginable.

Nicolas Cage definitely makes some interesting choices, and it's never easy to tell which of his upcoming projects we should take seriously, but 'The Trust' definitely has potential to give us some of that good Cage action. The actor will co-star with Elijah Wood in the new film from newcomers Ben and Alex Brewer, playing crooked cop buddies who get in over their heads. Wood and Cage is not a pairing we'd ever imagine, but now that we think of it, it's pretty intriguing.

'Open Windows' is director Nacho Vigalondo's most ambitious film to date. Starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey, the film examines our obsession with celebrity culture, and what happens when harmless obsession slides into violent entitlement.
