Some of Marvel’s most beloved and diverse superheroes are headed to the small-screen. The comics giant is working on a new animated Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors project, featuring fan-favorites like Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Gwen, and some familiar voices from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans’ Season 5 concerns were alleviated with word of a full fifth order, albeit one relegated to midseason. The Marvel drama suffered another setback with exclusion from Comic-Con 2017, but stars and producers promise S.H.I.E.L.D. a grand return in New York.
Fear not, true believers. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have at least one more mission ahead of them. ABC has officially confirmed that the Avengers-adjacent series will return for Season 5 after next Tuesday’s finale.
It could be some time yet before any real Ghost Rider finally speeds through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, but with a September 20 premiere fast approaching, we can barely keep from catching fire. See for yourself, as the first Season 4 premiere photos arrive with May, Mack, a pre-ghosting Ghost Rider and more.
The addition of Ghost Rider seemingly confirmed that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. intended to skew darker with Season 4's timeslot move to 10:00 P.M., though one has to wonder what a more adult version of the show looks like. According to the cast and crew, Season 4 will very much have an “after dark” feel, apparently with a heaping helping of sideboob.
Disney may be having itself quite a weekend, but another corner of the empire will start to pull focus in 2016, as Marvel fans gear up for Captain America: Civil War. 2016 will also mark the 75th anniversary of the character, for which ABC has drafted an hour-long Cap special to air just before the Season 2 premiere of his best gal, Agent Carter.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. successfully brought the MCU to the small-screen, but did you know that the Avengers-adjacent series shares DNA with both Skyfall and Mission: Impossible? That’s just one piece of Level 7 intel from the fourteenth episode of ‘You Think You Know TV?,’ which assembles its own Marvel-ous team for ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.!
