There’s good news and bad for fans of USA’s Mr. Robot, as – while Season 3 has come to an end – the series has formally been renewed for Season 4. Creator Sam Esmail has previously spoken to the series lasting four or five seasons, and now suggests that the remaining two installments may be a little … well, compressed.
The Bermuda Triangle is one of those places that will forever be shrouded in mystery as scientists and physicists and marine biologists and historians try and fail to come up with reasons for the strange activity found within that infamous patch of the Caribbean. It’s material ripe for a movie, and Universal wants to bring a mysterious project, written and possibly directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail to the big screen.
Unlike the previous Obi-Wan Kenobi — sorry, Alec Guinness — Ewan McGregor has long been excited about the prospect of returning for more Star Wars movies, telling Empire Magazine last October that he was the “right age” to make two more movies as the beloved character. While fans were sometimes unimpressed by the prequels, McGregor’s winning performance as the young Jedi was one of the highlights of the film, leading fans to clamor for a standalone Kenobi movie while McGregor was still the right age.
If you thought perhaps we were overdue for Mr. Robot news, you weren’t wrong. Not only do we now know that Elliot and fsociety will be back for Season 3 later than expected, but they’ll also have Bobby Cannavale and a new series regular in tow.
