A villain that rivals the indulgent, maniacal wackiness of Samuel L. Jackson in Kingsman: The Secret Service? That’s a bold claim, but it’s one Taron Egerton is making as the actor teases what we can expect from Kingsman 2. Not only will the follow-up have a great villain, but the action won’t be confined to the U.K. as director Matthew Vaughn is taking young Eggsy international.

Jamie Foxx didn’t have such a great 2014, but the actor is back after taking a little time off and he has a few promising new projects, including a role in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver and the U.S. remake of French action flick Sleepless Night. While we wait for the Jamie Foxx renaissance to commence, the actor has added another interesting film to his to-do list, lining up a role opposite Taron Egerton in Lionsgate’s gritty Robin Hood: Origins.

The account of Eddie the Eagle’s inspirational flight provides fodder for the upcoming sports picture appropriately titled Eddie the Eagle. Taron Egerton, fresh off of a hot year with roles in Kingsman, Testament of Youth, and Legend, steps in to portray the quixotic athlete Edwards, and he’ll joined by Hugh Jackman as the fictitious Bronson Peary, a former great who sees potential in this upstart and agrees to coach young Eddie. Christopher Walken will also appear in the film, directed by Wild Bill’s Dexter Fletcher.

The dulcet tones of Matthew McConaughey are capable of anything. They bring an easygoing charm to the variety of laid-back characters that he plays on film, they were almost able to gloss over the fact that nothing McConaughey was saying in those Lincoln commercials made a lick of sense, and they’ve surely sweet-talked many a barmaid at the end of the night as the local watering hole clears out...

Of the many (many, many) Robin Hood films currently in the works, Lionsgate is pushing their gritty Robin Hood: Origins ahead of the pack, with Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton signed on for the role of the eponymous hero — but who will be his Maid Marian? The Knick breakout star Eve Hewson has joined the cast to portray Robin Hood’s love interest, but hopefully she’ll be given a little more to do than wave a handkerchief and sigh over the object of her affection.

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Fox was planning on moving ahead with the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, with writer / director Matthew Vaughn currently working on the screenplay. There was just one tiny issue: Kingsman made a leading man out of Taron Egerton, and his commitment to starring in Robin Hood: Origins for Lionsgate was causing a bit of a conflict. It seems that the conflict has been resolved, but unfortunately for Lionsgate, their Robin Hood movie is going to have to wait.

Taron Egerton has become quite popular since his breakout role earlier this year in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service, and while that’s great news for the actor and his fans, it’s a bit tricky for his scheduling, which has gotten a little complicated. And it’s Egerton’s popularity that’s causing a slight issue for Kingsman 2 as it prepares to head into production in the spring.

There are approximately 134 Robin Hood movies in development at various studios (okay, it’s actually more like four or five), but Lionsgate is rushing to get their version to the big screen first. The studio recently hired Peaky Blinders director Otto Hathurst (whose name sounds like a character from Peaky Blinders) to helm Robin Hood: Origins, and now they’ve come up with a shortlist of potential leading men to play the rebooted version of the Prince of Thieves.

There are currently two planned Star Wars standalone films: Gareth Edwards’ 2016 project, which has been rumored to focus on Boba Fett and a group of bounty hunters attempting to steal the plans for the Death Star. Both that film and the other standalone project have also been rumored to tell the story of young Han Solo. According to a new report, Disney has their sights set on Kingsman: The Secret Service’s breakout star Taron Egerton for the part of young Solo.

Despite opening against the juggernaut that is 50 Shades of Grey, the wildly transgressive and well-reviewed Kingsman: The Secret Service still held its own at the box office, making enough money to ensure talk of a potential sequel. And here we are, about to talk about a Kingsman 2 and whether or nor Colin Firth will reprise his role as the dashing and deadly genleman spy, Harry Hart. Massive spoilers lurk below.
