Just like that – binge-watching Netflix is once again its own reward. The streaming service has pulled the plug on an incentivized “patches” feature that parents complained was encouraging kids to binge shows at unhealthy rates.

Just like every addiction, Netflix is seeking to make theirs fun for kids. User reports have revealed that the streaming service has begun testing “patches” on certain youth-oriented programming, with an aim to introduce “collectible items for a more interactive experience.”

The broad success of Netflix animated series like Voltron and Trollhunters will give way to a whole new power in 2018. Not only is a She-Ra reboot on deck for next year, but also new animated iterations of The Boss Baby, Captain Underpants and more.

Fans of Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix Trollhunters have Season 2 to look forward to in December, but even more in the coming years. Not only will 2018 bring us an alien-based spinoff, but 2019 will see another magical addition that ties all three series together in one major crossover.
