Fans of Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix Trollhunters have Season 2 to look forward to in December, but even more in the coming years. Not only will 2018 bring us an alien-based spinoff, but 2019 will see another magical addition that ties all three series together in one major crossover.

Per Entertainment Weekly, Guillermo del Toro confirmed that Trollhunters will serve as one side of a three-part Tales of Arcadia, with alien spinoff 3 Below premiering in 2018. The new series will chronicle “two royal teenage aliens and their bodyguard who escape their home planet during a coup by an evil dictator and end up crashing on Earth,” with the prince’s Latino boy disguise serving as a “parable about the marginalized.”

After that, 2019 will see the debut of Wizards, which “unites all three mystical story lines, with magical heroes engaged in a battle that will determine the fate not just of our world, but also the troll kingdom and the alien world.” Here’s what Guillermo del Toro said of the three-pronged project’s inspiration:

The idea was to create three interconnecting series that shared a mythology. When I was kid growing up in a small city in Mexico, I thought everything was going to happen there. When I was in seventh grade, we went into the sewers with flashlights and crossed the whole city. I don’t recommend it! But we crossed the city from beneath, and that’s where Trollhunters come from. And for whatever reason, at age 15, I saw a UFO. I have a strange life.

In the meantime, Trollhunters Season 2 will premiere on December 15, though it remains unclear if the spinoffs will take the place of future seasons. Watch the trailer (featuring Anton Yelchin’s last vocal performances) below, and stay tuned.
