‘Terminator Genisys’ Character Posters Feature Heavy Metal and Heavier Photoshop
At least these Terminator Genisys posters are better than the first look we got at the characters last year — you know, those images in which all the actors are waving guns around and shouting. This new set of characters posters is a bit more subdued, although much, much heavier on the Photoshop to the point where they look painted.
Paramount has released the five new characters posters in the gallery above, featuring Emilia Clarke’s Sarah Connor, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator, Jai Courtney’s Kyle Reese, Jason Clarke’s John Connor, and Byung-hun Lee’s deadly T-1000. Of the group, the T-1000 is the most interesting with his callback to Robert Patrick’s version in Terminator 2: Judgment Day — although why they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) just get Patrick to return is kind of baffling.
When John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: To reset the future…
Still missing in action: Matt Smith. We’ve only seen his character in that first batch of images released last year, and he hasn’t been spotted in any of the trailers. He apparently plays a character with the simple name of “Tim.” What are you hiding with this Tim guy, Paramount?
Terminator Genisys hits theaters on July 1.
