Take a look at the new video for Battlefield 4 showing off the Frostbite 3 Engine. Widespread destruction, realistic waves and wind effects? Yes, please.

The video gives us some insight from the developers at DICE about how the Frostbite Engine has evolved over the years and how it'll enhance gameplay in BF4.

One of the first changes they showcased was the effects of wind on trees. Before, they'd have to program the trees to sway as if they were being blown about, but now they can just let the engine control the effects.

We also get to see a bit of the new wave physics and the way players will interact with each other in the water. Whether in boats or swimming out in the open, players will bob along with the waves instead of just floating on a flat surface. All waves will be the same for all players, so everyone will be thrown about equally.
