'The Hangover, Part 3' director Todd Phillips has been uploading a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos from the film to his Instagram account and while most are pretty but otherwise benign, one photo raises a major question: so who dies in 'The Hangover, Part 3??'

In the Instragram pictures below, we see the four major cast members returning - Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha - plus old characters like Leslie Chow and new characters like John Goodman (who is reportedly playing the villain). But it's one picture in particular that has our interest.

In the photo (the first one listed below), we see Cooper, Helms and Bartha dressed in black suits at a cemetary. Curiously missing is Galifianakis' character Alan. It's been long-rumored that 'The Hangover, Part 3' will include a death, so who bites the big one in the final 'Hangover' film?

In the film, Alan's father (played by Jeffrey Tambor in the first film) dies and it's that event that sets the course for the rest of the film. It's still unclear whether the film will revolve around the break-Alan-out-of-a-mental-hospital storyline but the death could be the triggering event that sends Alan off the deep end.

Take a look at the photos below and keep your eye on Phillips' Instagram account for more photos from the set. 'The Hangover, Part 3' hits theaters on May 24, 2013.
