'X-Files' Revival Photos Reveal New Guest Stars and Details

Apart from a general conception of what David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson currently look like as human beings, we’ve been waiting for a genuine glimpse of The X-Files’ long awaited return. Now, a full file of new photos from the revival have arrived, teasing Americans and Community guest stars, with a few extraterrestrial details to boot.

Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, our first official photos of 2016’s revival showcase a few familiar faces, the likes of Joel McHale guesting as a conservative pundit, as well as The Americans breakout Annet Mahendru, atop cast and crew. Annet will evidently play a woman named Sveta, who believes herself regularly abducted by aliens, while other photos show the famous duo back in action, as well as Chris Carter hard at work on season premiere “My Struggle.”

Thus far, FOX’s X-Files return has also confirmed Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis to reprise their roles beside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, apart from a shortlist that named Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish as character candidates to return. On the creative side, writers and producers Chris Carter, Glen Morgan and Jim Wong will return to write and direct, with Frank Spotnitz also eyed to pitch in, and composer Mark Snow also coming aboard.

The X-Files will shoot this summer for a premiere in January 2016, but what else might new photos reveal over the course of production? What other guest stars remain unannounced?
