13 years after the first Underworld movie hit theaters, the Vampire and Lycan war rages on and yet, somehow, Kate Beckinsale is not exhausted. You’d think that five movies in, Beckinsale’s Vampire protagonist might need a quick nap, but nope — someone’s gotta stay in the middle of this battle, which looks to be just as ridiculous and bloody and blue-tinged as ever in the first trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars.

It’s become a little difficult to tell these films apart (they all sort of look like a horror mythology version of The Matrix), but here’s what’s different in the fifth installment in the surprisingly enduring franchise: Divergent’s Theo James reprises the role of David, with Game of Thrones star Charles Dance back as Thomas, the Vampire elder. They’re joined by two new enemies: Lycan leader Marius (Outlander’s Tobias Menzies) and dangerous Vampire Semira (Sherlock’s Lara Pulver), who discover that drinking Selene’s blood will make them invincible — but since this is an Underworld movie, Selene is probably going to defeat them just long enough to ensure a sixth film.

And yes, producer Len Wiseman (who helmed the first two films) has confirmed that a sixth movie is in development with Beckinsale set to reprise her role as Selene. Here’s the official synopsis for Underworld: Blood Wars (which is a real title, somehow):

The next installment in the blockbuster franchise follows Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) as she fends off brutal attacks from both the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her. With her only allies, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), she must stop the eternal war between Lycans and Vampires, even if it means she has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Underworld: Blood Wars hits theaters on January 6, 2017.
