Microsoft finally announced the release window and price for the Xbox One on Monday. Coming this November, the Xbox One will launch at $499.

If you recall, $499 is the same price at launch of the Xbox 360. Fortunately, there doesn't appear to be two different models of the console launching at two different price points. While $499 is a bit steep (it is the cost of a new iPad), there are a lot of things the Xbox One does much differently and better than the current console.

There's still no concrete release date, but a launch before Black Friday would make the most sense. Hopefully Microsoft will have more definitive details in the coming months. The Xbox One up for reserve is currently being called the "Day One Edition," but there's no indication as to what that means, if it even means anything at all.

What do you think of the price? Too high, or are you in on day one?
