The fun of American Horror Story (if there’s any left to be had) lies in charting the actors that resurface from year to year, some taking central roles in each installment, and others weaving intermittently. Coven and Freak Show star Emma Roberts apparently missed out on her chance for Hotel, but will likely return for another round in Season 6, it seems.

Roberts had previously spoken to the likelihood that Ryan Murphy would find a Hotel role for her after production on FOX’s Scream Queens wrapped, though despite five remaining Horror episodes this season, the schedules never coalesced. Roberts confirmed to Yahoo that other commitments kept her away, though she’d more than likely return for the already-confirmed Season 6:

I’m sad about it. We tried to make it work, but I’m leaving town to go do a movie and they’re shooting the last two episodes right now, so Ryan and I said next season we’ll do something amazing and devilish. I love this season, I watch most of it with my eyes closed, but I think I get the gist. I love Lady Gaga so much, so I was like, “Next season I want to work with Lady Gaga for sure.”

Granted, where FX has confirmed American Horror Story for a sixth season, and Murphy himself has even extended an invitation to Gaga, the eccentric pop star has yet to confirm (or really, even respond to) her presence in an additional season. In the meantime, Season 5 will continue Wednesday with “She Wants Revenge.”

Who else should return for the sixth year, that didn’t make it this time out? Could they don spacesuits, while they’re at it?
