Best Movie Trailers -- 2012 ScreenCrush Awards

EDIT
|

It's that time of year for the 2012 ScreenCrush Awards, where we recap the biggest events that had us chatting up the webosphere this year! In movie news, part of that means looking back on the best and most-hyped movie trailers, from 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'The Avengers' to 'Iron Man 3' and 'World War Z.' But which one gave us the biggest payoff? Vote for the best movie trailer of 2012 in our poll after the break!

The best movie trailers of 2012 had something that was all their own. Even moreso than the incredible action, teaser footage and astounding visuals, the trailers this year were able to get us all more hyped than we've ever been by teasing us with "trailer teases" for the trailers. We're talking trailers for trailers for movies!

Of course, there were plenty other films of 2012 that were just as exciting to watch that didn't rely on this ploy, but for the most part, the movie trailers most talked about this year were ones that had us constantly refreshing our web browsers every 10 seconds in the hopes that they'd hit earlier than their scheduled web release.

But which movie trailers gave us the biggest payoff after all the teasing? Check out the nominees for the Best Movie Trailers of 2012 and vote for your favorite in our poll below.
