Fez Finally Getting Much Needed XBLA PatchLuke Brown |
Back in June of last year, Polytron released a patch for its indie platformer Fez that caused an occasional save file corruption, in spite of fixing numerous other issues. As that first patch was so expensive, Polytron was never able to put out a second patch to fix the save file issue. Until now.
Fez creator Phil Fish shared the good news on his Twitter account.
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: we're going to patch FEZ on XBLA!

The update comes a short time after it was revealed Microsoft was no longer charging developers for updates to Xbox 360 games. The update isn't quite ready yet, as Polytron has only begun moving forward with putting it together.
In the meantime, development on Fez 2 continues unabated, but Xbox owners will have to look elsewhere if they hope to play it. Fish has already explained the sequel will not be coming to either the 360 or the Xbox One.
