Showtime's acclaimed Emmy-winning terrorism thriller 'Homeland' has officially entered production on its third season, set for premiere on September 29 and including a vast array of guest stars. Just yesterday we heard about two new faces to make their presence known in the third season, but are you ready for the impressive full roster of 'Homeland' season 3's new characters? Spoilers on the newest episodes await inside!

Yesterday marked the first news of 'Homeland' rounding out its ranks for a third season, given the multiple deaths and climactic explosion that decimated the cast in the Showtime drama's season 2 finale "The Choice." Where previously we learned that 'Boss' star Amy Morton and 'Prison Break's' Tracy Letts had joined 'Homeland' season 3 in recurring roles, Showtime has released the full roster of guest stars and characters. Beware of SPOILERS!

Joanna Merlin (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as “Grandma Lois,” Jessica Brody’s mother.

Nazanin Boniadi (How I Met Your Mother) as “Fara,” a capable analyst despite her young appearance.

Amy Morton (Boss) as Carrie Mathison’s CIA appointed attorney “Erin Kimball.”

Gary Wilmes (Louie) as “Dr. Richardson,” a psychiatrist helping Dana Brody cope with recent events.

Sam Underwood (The Last Keepers) as “Leo,” a new friend of Dana’s with a troubled past.

Tracy Letts (Prison Break) as “Senator Andrew Lockhart,” the powerful, authoritative and commanding Committee Chairman.

Broadway veteran Lawrence Clayton (Dreamgirls, The Big C) as “Admiral Jim Pennington,” the President’s National Security Advisor.

Pedro Pascal (Graceland) as “Majority Counsel David Portillo,” a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Thus far, we know that in season 3 of ‘Homeland’ David Marciano (Virgil) and Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) are stepping down as series regulars to take reduced roles, while Morena Baccarin will reprise her series regular role as Jessica Brody, in spite of her wrongly accused husband’s absence. David Harewood, Jamie Sheridan and Navid Negahban have all exited the series, given their characters’ fates.

‘Homeland’ season 3 picks up “during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist — Nick Brody. As Carrie and Saul begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.”

It's a shame we'll have to wait until September for new episodes, but in the meantime, what say you? Are you excited to see where Carrie and Brody end up in the third season of 'Homeland'?
