There's no happy ending in store for Jennifer Love Hewitt's 'The Client List,' as Lifetime has officially confirmed that the top-heavy series will not return for a third season. Reports vary as to what prompted the network's decision to axe the low-rated, but conversation-starting series, including arguments with Hewitt herself over the direction of season 3.

According to Deadline, the cancellation comes as a mutual agreement between the network and producer Sony Pictures TV, following a ratings slip of 2.7 million for the premiere to 2 million for the finale. Additionally, Hewitt had petitioned the producers to find a part for her real-life fiance Brian Hallisay, positioning him on the series as her character Riley's own baby-daddy.

Reportedly, the issues became too much for the network to deal with, leading to the formal cancellation today. It's certainly no numerical loss for the network, which recently ordered second season of 'Devious Maids,' and rescued 'Drop Dead Diva' from cancellation once more.

For those unfamiliar with the series, 'The Client List' featured Jennifer Love Hewitt as Riley Parks, a single mother working as a scantily-clad massage therapist, and probably had additional aspects, as well. We weren't really paying attention.

Well, what say you? A sad loss for GIF culture, but will you miss more than two things about Jennifer Love Hewitt's 'The Client List'?
