Both Raylan Givens and Boyd Crowder are going to have their hands full when 'Justified' returns for a fourth season, more literally than you might think. In addition to the presumable gunplay involved, the FX drama's fourth year will also see the pair dealing with decades-old mysteries, and a strange new snake-handling church in the backwoods of Harlan County.

FX has released the first three episode descriptions from the new season, beginning Tuesday January 8:

Episode 1 – “Hole in the Wall” (Airs January 8, 10:00 pm e/p) – While running down a vicious fugitive, Raylan finds evidence his family is at the center of a legendary unsolved mystery. Written by Graham Yost; directed by Michael Dinner.

Episode 2 – “Where’s Waldo?” (Airs January 15, 10:00 pm e/p) – As Raylan tangles with a dangerous family keeping a dark secret, Boyd takes on a snake-handling preacher. Written by Dave Andron; directed by Bill Johnson.

Episode 3 – “Truth and Consequences” (Airs January 22, 10:00 pm e/p) – Drew Thompson's widow turns up and gets Raylan in hot water with the FBI, while Boyd's strike at the snake church is met with a surprising strike back. Written by Benjamin Cavell; directed by Jon Avnet.

In addition to the recent casting of ‘LOST‘s’ Sam Anderson as a shady funeral home director, ‘Justified’ season 4 will also feature Ron Eldard as Colton Rhodes, a military police sergeant with ties to Boyd Crowder, and comedian Patton Oswalt as Raylan’s old friend Constable Bob Sweeney. David Meunier will reprise his role as Johnny Crowder for 10 episodes, and Natalie Zea will be back as Winona for at least three.
