Last week, we learned that yet another famous name of Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' would show up in live-action form, Victoria Hand, as portrayed by 'Deep Blue Sea' actress Saffron Burrows. Though only rumor at the time, the character and actress have officially been confirmed, with a taste of what brings the infamous Marvel character into Agent Coulson's path.

Via TVGuide, Victoria Hand will seem a bit less accessible than the Marvel comics that have portrayed her in the past, given that Burrows will bring the character to life in the upcoming November 12 episode that sees both the agent and S.H.I.E.L.D. rebuking Coulson for breaking protocol on a mission. Says current showrunner and executive producer Jed Whedon of the character's introduction into the live-action world:

We decided it was time to send little S.H.I.E.L.D., our show's team of six, into the big S.H.I.E.L.D. facility. We especially wanted to throw Skye, who is new to all this, into the massive organization she was once scared of. Victoria Hand is the next phase of the fans' S.H.I.E.L.D. experience — a strong, ruthless woman who will do anything to get the job done. She and Agent Coulson will have a power play.

Worth noting is that the same episode "The Hub" will return Agent Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernandez) to the fold opposite his former partner Coulson, and leading up to Sitwell's own role in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' next year. The November 19 episode will dip even further into the Marvel universe, as well, directly following the events of 'Thor: The Dark World.'

Tonight's all-new episode, "F.Z.Z.T.," has been said to take the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' in a darker direction, an idea supported by the recent clip suggesting that Coulson has at least some knowledge of the extraordinary events surrounding his resurrection.

We're excited to see how the coming weeks will correct some noticeable 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' problems, but what say you? Are you looking forward to seeing Victoria Hand in live action? What do you want to see from upcoming episodes of Marvel's small-screen adventure?
