NBC Plots ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Series, ‘Tommyknockers,’ Hilary Clinton and More

NBC Rosemarys Baby Tommyknockers Hilary Clinton Plymouth

Among the multiple ongoing developments from the Television Critics Association press tour, NBC has reaffirmed their commitment to doing more limited series, announcing several new projects. Not only will the network look to reboot horror classic ‘Rosemary’s Baby,’ but also a new adaptation of Stephen King‘s ‘The Tommyknockers,’ a Hilary Clinton miniseries starring Diane Lane, and a ‘Plymouth’ story on par with History’s ‘The Bible.’

NBC president Bob Greenblatt explained that the classic Mia Farrow movie would be adapted as a retelling of the original novel by Ira Levin, with the new version focusing on a young husband and wife living in Paris for an “edge-of-your-seat thriller.” At the time, no casting has been conducted, or at least announced. Meanwhile, the “Tommyknockers” adaptation of Stephen King’s 1987 novel follows a 1993 miniseries starring Jimmy Smits and Marg Helgenberger, chronicling the residents of a small Maine town. NBC’s redo will be helmed by Yves Simoneau (‘Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee’).

The four-hour untitled Hilary Clinton miniseries will feature ‘Man of Steel‘ star Diane Lane in the central role, for a project written and directed by Oscar nominee Courtney Hunt. The series will follow Clinton’s life as a wife, mother, politician, and cabinet member from 1998 modern day, its script kicking off with an as-yet-uncast Bill Clinton in the second of his two presidential terms.

Finally, ‘The Bible’ mastermind Mark Burnett will helm ‘Plymouth,’ which chronicles the challenges and dramatic nature of the Pilgrims’ journey over the Atlantic, and subsequent resettling. As previously reported, NBC will also develop ‘The Bible’ sequel of sorts,‘A.D.: Beyond the Bible.’

Well, what say you? Which of NBC’s latest miniseries projects has you the most interested?
