Just when you thought you’d lost count of the Netflix original series in development, here comes number … uh, moving on! Scott Frank and Steven Soderbergh’s new Western miniseries Godless has begun casting, with none other than Newsroom alum Jeff Daniels and Batman v. Superman bomb Scoot McNairy eyed for leading roles.

Per Deadline, the Frank-written, directed and executive produced limited series Godless is projected as a Western set in an 1800s New Mexico mining town. Soderbergh would executive produce, while Daniels and McNary would join Money Monster star Jack O’Connell in the announced cast.

Additional casting is currently underway for the project, itself set to film in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For his part, Frank’s screenwriting credits included the original Minority Report, Get Shorty, The Wolverine and Liam Neeson’s A Walk Among The Tombstones, which Frank also directed.

Frank also earned an Oscar nomination for his work adapting Justified creator Elmore Leonard’s Out of Sight, which Soderbergh directed in 1998. It’s a hefty cast to start, but does a Jeff Daniels western sound at home on Netflix?
