It’s been a few months since Marvel first announced that Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man would be shuttered in favor of a new “back to basics” series ostensibly tied to Spider-Man Homecoming. No new details have been released, but some reported merchandising concepts may reveal fan-favorites “Spider-Gwen” and the Miles Morales Spider-Man taking part.

Initial concept art for the series showed only a logo and design work for Spider-Man himself, with a description that suggested a more pared-down approach than Ultimate’s S.H.I.E.L.D.-based and crossover-heavy narrative. That said, a number of “style guide graphics and product concepts” have surfaced over at Fractured Pixels, which include designs for the Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales Spider-heroes, as well as a monstrous Venom.

It’s far from official, but Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales did feature into the Ultimate series toward the end, and continue to drive fan interest in the franchise. The new series is headed up by story editor Kevin Shinick and supervising director Philip Pignotti, previously of Marvel’s Avengers Assemble, while Disney XD boss Marc Buhaj said of the series:

Spider-Man is the biggest action hero in the world. He is an iconic character whose duality makes him both relatable and aspirational for the Disney XD audience. [The new series is] a fresh take on a beloved classic that will engage both new and existing Spidey fans with its compelling drama, exciting action and the signature sense of comedy.

Ultimate Spider-Man will end with its fourth season in January, airing a two part “Graduation Day” finale, but when might Marvel or Disney XD come forth with official details on Marvel’s Spider-Man?
