Sony is looking to turn the hit video game 'Metal Gear Solid' into a film franchise, and are now in early talks with 'Kings of Summer' director Jordan Vogt-Roberts to be the man behind the camera. It would join the upcoming renaissance of video game movies that include the Michael Fassbender-starring 'Assassin's Creed' and the Tom Hardy-led 'Splinter Cell.'
Metal Gear Solid
While there have been high-definition remakes of a few Metal Gear Solid games over the past year, the very first PlayStation Metal Gear Solid has remained decidedly old school. That might not always been case however, as series creator Hideo Kojima has revealed he's hoping to find a studio to remaster the classic.
If there's one thing Hideo Kojima knows how to do, it's wow gamers with the incredible visuals in his Metal Gear Solid franchise. With a new 9-minute extended trailer, Kojima will leave you stunned at the beauty of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. Be warned, the footage above is somewhat graphic in its nature in a few spots.
If you somehow still haven't managed to play through any or all of the Metal Gear Solid games, then you're in for some good news. The PlayStation 3 will be getting another exclusive franchise bundle dubbed Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, which will release in the U.S. on July 9th.
