We're pretty sure the secret behind 'Prometheus' is full-blown media saturation, and the movie is doing a damn good job of it. But hey, who are we to complain? Now we get an even closer look at some of the characters from the film, just in case you haven't been reading the internet for the last month.
The featurettes, TV spots and images are starting to roll in for the upcoming science fiction film 'Prometheus,' and each one reveals a bit more about the Damon Lindelof-written story that has managed to stay a secret since shooting last year. Now a brand new featurette reveals even more about the movie and what fans can expect.
It's been unclear up until now if Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus' -- the semi-prequel to 'Alien' -- would be rated R or PG-13. But today we can put the speculating to rest as Fox has released confirmation that the film has indeed been handed an R rating.

Universal pulled the plug on the director’s planned horror feature last year, with most of us speculating that it was the project’s escalating budget that gave the studio pause. And while that’s still a contributing factor, del Toro revealed another culprit that might have led to the demise of ‘Madness’ – Ridley Scott’s upcoming ‘Prometheus.’
We might end up remember 2012 as the year all of our box-office records were shattered. ‘The Hunger Games’ knocked out a few key records on March. ‘The Avengers’ appears ready to test a few worldwide records. And overseas, though we’re still weeks away from its opening, Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ just set a new record for IMAX ticket sales.
Fox really wants you guys to see this movie. 'Prometheus' isn't a hard sell to fans of Ridley Scott's original 'Alien' film (and the three sequels that followed), but for general audiences unfamiliar with 'Alien' or unaware of the threads 'Prometheus' shares with it, the dark sci-fi film might be a tougher sell.

It's still pending a rating, but there's been a question about 'Prometheus' since it was conceived. All the other 'Alien' films have been R rated, and - even though this isn't so much a prequel but an 'in-universal' film - would the scissor-happy Fox cut the film to get it a PG-13?
